Patrology
Patrology is a branch of theology that deals with the study of Christian ecclesiastical literature by the Church Fathers and ecclesiastical writers in general, from the founding of the Church until the end of the Byzantine period, covering not only Christian Greek but also Latin literature of the first eight centuries. This is a research department of ecclesiastical literature that arose due to the particular interest that these first centuries have for the Church in general.
