As part of the celebrations for the Liberation of Drama, the Cultural Association of Farasiotes of Cappadocia – Choristi “Agios Vasilios” presented the musical and dance performance “From the Pain of Exile to the Embrace of Free Drama”, on Friday, June 20th, 2025, at the open-air theatre of Agia Varvara.

Through traditional dances, songs, and theatrical narration, the performance traced the moving journey of uprooting and resettlement of the Farasiotes in their free homeland. The production respectfully and emotionally brought to life the memories, values, and cultural roots of Asia Minor Hellenism.

The narration was sensitively curated and delivered by Mrs. Georgia Ouroumi, President of the nonprofit organization TERIREM AMKE, who added depth and theatricality to the historical storytelling.
In recognition of her valuable contribution to the event, Mrs. Ouroumi was honored by the Association with a commemorative plaque.

A special artistic contribution was made by the Byzantine and Traditional Choir of the Musical and Dramatic Society of Choristi “Renaissance Macedonia”, which provided an authentic and solemn musical backdrop for the evening.

The warm response of the audience and the emotional atmosphere that prevailed confirmed both the success of the event and the enduring importance of collective memory and cultural heritage.

The Cultural Association of Farasiotes of Cappadocia – Choristi “Agios Vasilios” warmly thanks all those who participated, supported, and applauded this evening of remembrance, history, and culture.
