The Cross is the eternal and immortal monument of God’s love, the most glorious proof, the unmistakable and exquisite measure of it: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John c. 16). The greatness of God’s love is revealed in the value of His sacrifice and the redemptive consequences of it…

Infinite is the love of God, infinite are the dimensions of the Cross. “The breadth and length of the cross of heaven is equal, that divine grace sanctifies the universes”. The breadth and length of the Cross, which today stands in the centre of our churches, covers  the heavens and by His grace sanctifies the universes Wins demons, saves men, fixes the angels steadfastly in good, renovates the world . The sun of God’s love is ever shining. From every point in time, past, present and future, He illuminates the Cross, which casts His shadow over the whole length of history. Man walks under the shadow of the Cross and in the light of divine love. God’s love seals with the sign of the Cross every page of our history… The Cross everywhere and always! The love of God exalts Him everywhere. But man’s love of God should also lift Him up in our own hearts. Here God does not interfere, but respects our freedom…

Continuing the spiritual struggle of the period of the Great Lent with the power and presence of the Cross in our lives, we Christians look forward to the Resurrection, to regenerate and enlighten us, to lead us to our eternal salvation. The Cross of Christ is our strength, the invincible trophy of the Church, the irresistible weapon of our struggle against passions, selfishness and all kinds of addictions…”
